From a visually appealing website to one that functions even better.

Campfire Music Collective is a cozy music studio that teaches all groups and ages how to play an instrument, just like playing around a campfire.

Industry:
Music

Services Provided:
Website Maintenance (Ongoing)

Website Built With:
Squarespace

The Project Goal

Angie, the founder of Campfire Music Collective, reached out for support to maintain the amazing website they had created to accompany their small business, which serves their community and nationwide.

The home studio needed help with:

  • occasional website edits/updates

  • link audits

  • integrating Mailchimp with their website contact form

  • regular website backups

  • SEO optimization

  • writing image alt-texts

The Process

The first task we tackled was to go through all the pages and make sure they had meta titles and descriptions to improve SEO. We also checked the heading hierarchy to ensure the correct order on each page. Then, we worked through images, adding alt texts.

After gaining access to Mailchimp, we configured the contact form so subscribers would be automatically added to Mailchimp’s audience email list.

There is no direct way to back up a Squarespace website like WordPress. A workaround or a method to back up a Squarespace website is to duplicate the website you want to back up. I would rename the duplicated site title to the month, such as Campfire Music Collective April 2025, and simply leave that along in my Squarespace account. All updates are made in the original live website, and the website is duplicated each month.

The Results

Maintained and improving each month! Every month, I go through a checklist of tasks to keep the website running smoothly and securely. The website is being well taken care of (which is what all websites need!).
